Instructions for 1099 B

A broker barter exchange must file the Form 1099-B proceeds from broker and barter exchange transactions for each person:

For whom the broker has sold (including short sales) stocks,  bonds,  commodities,  regulated futures etc.

Definitions as related to form 1099-B include:

  • Brokers

  • Reporting

  • Substitute statements additional information required for covered securities

  • Example shown

  • Short sales of securities

  • (WHFIT's) Widely Held Investment Trusts

  • Requirement to furnish tax information to TIH

  • Acquisition of control or substantial change in capital structure

  • Cash on delivery account.
