When Alice Audette was 18 years old she went to a school in Boston for 3 days and came back to New Bedford to open her own hat store.
It was located about one block north of St Anthony's Church on Acushnet Ave. In New Bedford, and across from a theater. 

She married Andre Sirois - they had no children.
